Panda: Pet insurance and sustainable environmental protection go hand in hand

Sustainable solutions are still a rarity within the insurance industry. The partnership between ELEMENT and Panda shows how it can be done better: animal welfare and environmental protection are important aspects of the cooperation.

Besides good insurance cover, what protects man's most loyal companion best? An intact environment! Panda has set itself the goal of donating 3% of its yearly turnover to ecofriendly projects and thus making a strong contribution to the preservation of our planet.

ELEMENT's dog health and dog owner liability insurance – both guarantee exemplary insurance cover for four-legged family members – has been adapted for Panda and provided with additional extras. In particular, the online veterinary service, through the telemedicine provider Pfotendoctor, is an absolute novelty. This marks the starting point for an ecosystem around the topic of animal welfare.

"We started Panda with the ambition to combine insurance products for animals with a sustainable commitment to the environment. Our partnership with ELEMENT makes this possible. We are leaders in this market segment and know that our commitment to animal welfare and environmental protection is in the interest of our customers."

Sustainability, environmental protection, and nature conservation are at the core of Panda InsurTech's corporate identity.

Together with its insurance community, Panda wants to make a difference and therefore donates part of its turnover to support projects for animal and environmental protection. Accordingly, every policyholder supports an important project of an animal or environmental protection organisation through their insurance premium every month.

Project result

The cooperation between ELEMENT and Panda underlines what sustainable insurance products will look like in the future – part of the revenues will flow into social or ecological projects. This meets some of the UN's 17 sustainability goals, which organisations must implement in order to guarantee sustainable business. Panda is a pioneer in this regard in Germany.

The involvement of a telemedicine provider illustrates how digital ecosystems can be developed through vertical offerings. In this way, innovative companies gain an efficient advantage over providers who only rely on a digital offer without creating any added value for their customers.

The combination of pet insurance with a sustainable donation concept is unique in Germany; hence, every sold insurance policy from Panda will make a difference for a better future.
